When Clarks decided to hang more of their shoes in store, they turned to Phineas Products for their Shoe hanging solutions
The Clarks brand is known internationally for establishing a tradition of first class customer service with high quality products at affordable prices. When they looked at innovating their store environment to include 50% of the product on hangers, it was essential that they found a partner to provide the best possible hanging solutions.
Clarks chose a low level design of gondola and wall mounted fixtures to maintain a spacious boutique style environment incorporating their tradition of personal service, but enabling them to mix and match shelf mounted premium styles and mid priced self-serve footwear on hangers.
Phineas Products provided a complete range of hangers for adult through to toddler sizes of footwear.
Phineas Products has invested a considerable amount on R+D, in designing products that make self service hanging shoe displays the high quality alternative to shelving, allowing the retailer to effectively manage these attractive, high density stock presentations with minimal effort.
In fact we dont consider our products as mere shoe hangers but as the complete solution for presenting shoes to increase sales and add value to the footwear says Dan Wright, Managing Director of Phineas Products Ltd.
Phineas provided a complete solution including the robust and unique double padded PP75 Boot Clip and the PP88 Wing hanger that allows a wide range of women's fashion shoes to be hung effectively on the same hanger design.
As well as providing a cost effective solution, Clarks were also keen to find a solution that was simple for shoppers, and this is where the Phineas snag free designs ensured shoes glided on and off the hangers making them very easy to use and maintain.
Gardman approached Phineas Products (PP) in 2007 with the problem that they were unable to source a clip to hold their heaviest Wellington boot which in a size 12 weighs in at a staggering 2.2 kg. With less than 6 weeks until the start of production for the new season, PP designed and proto typed a new concept in a matter of days. Once approved a mould was made in just 3 weeks capable of supplying low volume production. Once the product had been tested in store a production mould was made in 6 weeks to complete the final orders for the season.
In 2006 Gardman group sales were $125m and is one of the top three UK garden & leisure companies. It has been awarded the GCA/GIMA Supplier of the Year award for the six consecutive years 2002 to 2007 and the Haskins Stewarts GCA trophy in 2004, 2006 & 2007. It supplies many of the garden centres in the UK with its own branded products
The final solution was a specific boot clip to hang Wellington boots which was able to stand up to the abuse of the retail environment yet was easy to use by the shopper and thus encouraged them to return boots to the rail after the fitting process.
A spokeperson from Gardman says:
"You have to be impressed with a company that has the commitment to solve problems and the ability to see it through in double-quick time"
