Phineas Products

Case Studies

Clarks are known worldwide as a brand that offers the finest customer service and affordable products of the highest quality. Their innovative decision to hang 50% of their shoes in store required them to find a partner committed to meeting their specific needs. Clarks turned to Phineas Products for their bespoke shoe hanging solutions.

Clarks chose gondola and wall-mounted fixtures to maintain the spacious environment of their stores, allowing them to mix and match shelf-mounted premium shoe styles and mid-priced self-serve footwear while incorporating their tradition of personal service.

Phineas Products provided a complete range of hangers for Clarks footwear, from adult through to toddler sizes. Products that Clarks found useful included the double padded PP75 Boot Clip and the PP88 Wing hanger for a wide range of women?s fashion shoes.

Clarks were also keen to find a bespoke hanging solution that shoppers would find easy to handle. This is where snag-free designs from Phineas proved ideal, allowing the shoes to glide on and off the hangers with no difficulty or damage.

At Phineas Products, we invest in research and development that allows us to design innovative hanging shoe displays. These provide high quality alternatives to shelving or basket displays, allowing retailers to effectively manage the attractive, high density stock presentations with little effort.

Dan Wright, Managing Director of Phineas Products Ltd, says, ?We don?t consider our products as mere shoe hangers but as the complete solution for presenting shoes to increase sales and add value to the footwear?.

Gardman is one of the top 3 UK garden & leisure companies. It has won the GCA/GIMA Supplier of the Year award for 6 consecutive years (2002 to 2007) and the Haskins Stewarts GCA trophy in 2004, 2006 & 2007. It supplies many of the garden centers in the UK with its own branded products.

Gardman approached Phineas in 2007 with a problem; they were unable to source a clip to hold their heaviest Wellington boot, which in a size 12 weighs in at a staggering 2.2 kg! With less than 6 weeks until the start of production for the new season, Phineas speedily designed a new concept. Once approved, a mould was made in just 3 weeks. Once the product had been tested in store a production mould was made in 6 weeks, completing the final orders for the season.

The final solution was a boot clip specifically designed for Wellington boots, which was able to withstand the wear and tear of the retail environment, and was easy for shoppers to use, encouraging them to return the boots to the rail after the fitting process.

A Gardman spokesperson says:
"You have to be impressed with a company that has the commitment to solve problems and the ability to see it through in double-quick time".
